Eugene "Gene" Komar, 72, of Fort Meyers , Fla., and formerly of 26th Street, who had worked at the former Kimberly-Clark Corp. for 20 years and the former Harrison Radiator Division General Motors Corp., Lockport, for 20 years, died Saturday (Sept. 19, 1998) at his summer residence in Stoney Lake, Ont.

Born in Poland, he came to Niagara Falls in 1948.

Komar enjoyed boating and fishing at Stoney Lake.

He was a shipping clerk for the Kimberly-Clark Corp. and was a machine operator at Harrison Radiator, retiring in 1991. He moved to Florida in 1994.

Komar was a former member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Holy Name Society and Ushers Club, , a member of Resurrection Catholic Church, Fort Meyers, and a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus in Florida.

His wife, the former Helene L. Laskowski, died in 1987.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Wiener of Wantagh ; and two grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, 24th and Niagara streets, following services at 9 in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Lewiston.
