CONSULTANTS HIRED TO AID ISLE 'TOWN CENTER' PLANNING

Legal and planning consultants will be used to help plan the final stages of the "town center" area of Grand Island, the Town Board has decided.

The board has approved a proposal from the town's Long Range Planning Committee to hire the consultants on a temporary basis.

"The consultants will participate in a Long-Range Planning Committee meeting with committee members to provide the technical and legal guidance needed to move the Town Center Plan closer to completion," said Councilman Michael E. Heftka, Town Board liaison to the committee, in a unanimously-approved resolution to spend up to $600 in consultants' fees.

According to the resolution, the hiring of the consultants will be arranged by the chairman of the committee, Gary Roesch.
