Bret D. Morgan, 23, an auto mechanic for seven years, died Sunday (Sept. 20, 1998) in Erie County Medical Center of injuries he suffered in a Lancaster motorcycle accident on Sept. 15.
A graduate of Alden Central High School, the Lancaster resident worked at Bill Schreiber's Sunoco Service, Cheektowaga. He took several General Motors training programs on auto repair.
Morgan's interest in mechanics began as an toddler, when he played with auto parts, said his mother, Carol J. Schreiber-Walz. "His life was his cars and his tools," she said.
Mrs. Schreiber-Walz said Morgan loved children and that his donated organs were used in the past few days in surgical procedures involving two youngsters.
"All his friends said he was always helping others and never asked anything in return," Mrs. Schreiber-Walz said. "He's still giving."
In addition to his mother, Morgan is survived by his father, David G. Morgan of Hamburg; two sisters, Danielle Morgan-Schlee of Williamsville and Kimberly Morgan-Place of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two stepbrothers, Mel R. Walz of Denver and Justin F. Walz of West Seneca. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Christ the King Church, 30 Lamarck Drive, Snyder, following prayers at 8:45 in Beach-Tuyn Funeral Home, 5541 Main St., Williamsville.
