JAMESTOWN MAN CHARGED IN THEFTS

Two neighboring businesses were held up Sunday evening, allegedly by the same man who threatened the clerks with a chemical spray.

Jamestown Police were called to US News in the East Second Street Plaza just after 5:30 p.m. While they were heading to the store, a call came in about a robbery next door at a Subway restaurant.

While searching the area, police got some information leading to a possible suspect across the street at the Bullfrog Hotel, 1414 E. Second. Jason P. Doss, 25, of Apt. 24 in that building, was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree attempted robbery.

Police recovered a canister of tear gas and the clerk at US News recovered some money.
