BODIES FOUND OFF COAST BELIEVED TO BE MARINES

Three bodies found off the Southern California coast are believed to be crewmen who plunged into the Pacific Ocean last week in a Marine helicopter.

The bodies were found over the weekend and had not been positively identified. But officials at Camp Pendleton said Monday that it was likely the bodies were victims of a Sept. 16 crash in which four Marines were presumed to have died.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
