Three men have been arrested for allegedly beating two Asian Indian men and a teen-age girl with a baseball bat while shouting racial slurs. One of the victims, a 19-year-old man, remained in serious condition Monday.
The attack was unprovoked and occurred at 9:30 p.m. Sunday in the Ozone Park section of Queens, where the victims and suspects live, police said.
The suspects allegedly approached a 17-year-old girl, a 22-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man -- all cousins -- as they walked along 114th Street and 150th Avenue, police said.
The suspects then allegedly shouted racial threats at the trio and the woman ran into her home to get her father, who came outside. One of the suspects was armed with a baseball bat and began hitting them. The suspects were identified as: Peter DiMarco, 19; Nuno Martins, 19; and Luis Amorim, 22. It was not immediately known who wielded the bat.
