Isabelle T. Armstrong, 89, former president of Buffalo Jobbing Inc., the parent of Standard Shoe Repair stores, died Saturday (Sept. 19, 1998) in Maryfield Nursing Home, High Point, N.C.

The former Isabelle Turski was born in Buffalo and graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1925 while working at the family business.

"She started working in high school. She worked there all of her life," said Mrs. Armstrong's daughter, Mary Jane Sanders of Roselle, Ill.

Mrs. Armstrong retired when she was 82 and moved to Florida for several years. She moved to Maryfield about four years ago.

While in Buffalo, she was a member of St. Mary Magdalene and St. Michael's Catholic parishes. She also was the recipient of the Business Woman Association Award.

She was married to the late Robert J. Armstrong.

In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two other daughters, Patricia Souza of Jamestown, N.C., and Dr. Susan of Gainesville, Fla.; a son, Robert J. of Marion, Ind.; a brother, Edward Turski of Scottsdale, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
