Thelma Kenyon Gasper, 90, of Chaffee, who raised foster children for many years before becoming a sub assembly worker for Motorola in Arcade, died Saturday (Sept. 19, 1998) in Bertrand Chaffee Hospital, Springville, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Gasper, a native of Geneva, worked for Motorola for 23 years until her retirement about 25 years ago. She was a deaconess of Chaffeee Community Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there for many years.

An independent person, she maintained her own residence until her recent illness.

Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Howard of East Arcade, Beverly Smith of Chaffee and Tarry Hartwell of Allen, Texas; two sons, Richard and Horace, both of Delevan; two brothers, Ronald and Durwood Kenyon, both of Chaffee; 23 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Chaffee Community Baptist Church, 13510 Grove St. Burial will be in Sardinia Cemetery.[hdkns]
