MAN HITS POLE, FACES DWI CHARGE

A Perry man was arrested early Saturday morning on a driving while intoxicated charge after his car struck a pole near 22 Pickett St. in the Village of Castile, Wyoming County sheriff's deputies reported.

John P. Holderer, 22, of 114 Euclid Ave., was heading north on Pickett Street at 4:55 a.m. Saturday when he drove off the street and hit a power pole, deputies said.

Holderer was also charged with driving with more than .10 percent blood-alcohol content.

Deputies said he refused medical treatment at the scene.
