Three firefighters suffered burns early today battling an intentionally set blaze at 220 Loepere St., authorities said.
One of the three firefighters left the fire scene after suffering burns to his hands and wrists, but the other two, who suffered neck and ear burns, were able to remain on duty, fire officials said.
The arson, which was started at 2:30 a.m., caused $20,000 damage in the vacant 2 1/2 -story, wood-frame structure. An emergency demolition of the building was scheduled for later today.
At 3:30 a.m. today, firefighters extinguished a $20,000 fire at 17 Woodside Ave. The cause of that blaze, in a 2 1/2 -story, wood-frame house, is under investigation, authorities said.
