NCCC TRUSTEES APPROVE GARDEN FOR CHILDREN

Trustees of Niagara County Community College have voted to allow students from the Outdoor Adventure and Horticulture clubs to build a butterfly and hummingbird garden near the school's playground for children.

Students from the clubs will plant flowers species that are supposed to attract butterflies. The NCCC Foundation Inc., a fund-raising arm of the college, will pay for the project, which is estimated to cost less than $2,000.

Laurie A. Caso, director of the foundation, said students will begin to design the garden in the fall and will finish the plans in the spring.
