MAN CHARGED IN ASSAULT OF WOMAN AND DAUGHTER

A Chester Street man, who allegedly used a baseball bat to hit a woman he lives with and also punched her daughter, was charged with two counts of assault Sunday, Northeast District police said.

Juan Jeffries, 39, also was accused of threatening Sylvia Hall with a butcher knife in the attack on her and her 15-year-old daughter, according to arresting Officers Ronald Ammerman and Bob Rosenswie.

In addition to the assault charges, Jeffries was charged with menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.
