ANNE MARIE CIANCIO FERRENTINO, YOUTH VOLUNTEER

Jamestown native Anne Marie Ciancio Ferrentino, 43, of Vero Beach Fla., who was a noted volunteer for youth, died Saturday (Aug. 29, 1998) in Staten Island University Hospital.

The daughter of Elaine Giunta Ciancio of Jamestown and the late Anthony J. Ciancio, Mrs. Ferrentino was a 1973 graduate of Jamestown High School who earned associate and bachelor's degrees from Jamestown Community College and Buffalo State College, respectively. She was a magna cum laude English and literature graduate at Buffalo State.

Employed in public relations, business and risk management, Mrs. Ferrentino was remembered for keeping civic and children's interests at heart. She spent much of her time coordinating districtwide volunteer services for the Indian River County School District and was a secretary for the Indian River Soccer Association.

Twice an elected member of the Beachland Elementary School Improvement Team, Mrs. Ferrentino frequently performed volunteer tasks at the school while her children attended.

While living in Jamestown, she was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Dr. Michael P., and two sons, Michael J. and Bryan A., all of Vero Beach, and three sisters, Karen Laird of Arcade, Kathleen Montini of Jamestown and Christine Cina of Amherst.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Church, 27 Allen St., Jamestown. Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum, Jamestown.
