HENRY VON WODTKE, PURCHASING MANAGER, AVID SKIER

Henry von Wodtke, 89, of Hamburg, an avid skier and beekeeper, died Friday (Aug. 28, 1998) in Lakewood Health Care Center, Hamburg.

He came to Buffalo from Germany in 1927 and worked for 40 years as the purchasing manager of Donner Hanna Coke Corp. in South Buffalo.

A skiing enthusiast, von Wodtke for many years was president of the Red Jacket Ski Club in Clarksburg.

He was active in United Methodist Church in Hamburg, the Hamburg Men's Garden Club, the Purchasing Managers Association in Buffalo and the Clarksburg Club.

He was the widower of Elizabeth and Charlotte.

Survivors include two sons, Henry of Glastonbury, Conn., and Mark of Claremont, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in Hamburg United Methodist Church, 116 Union St.[pgntro]
