Everett R. Werderman, 85, of Quaker Road, who owned and operated a fruit farm, died Saturday (Aug. 29, 1998) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Buffalo and was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Burgard Vocational High School.

Werderman worked as a foreman at Houdaille Machine Shop in Buffalo before moving to Barker in the 1930s.

He owned and operated a fruit farm on Lake Road and also owned and operated Werderman's Marina at the Golden Hill State Park boat launch site.

He also drove a school bus for Ridge Road Express in the Barker Central School District, retiring in 1978.

Survivors include his wife, the former Ida Grieser Raybuck; three daughters, Mona Devlin of Lockport, Sharon Dean and Bonnie Ullery; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, 1708 Pallister Ave. Private burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.[kwlk]
