A woman whose 2-year-old daughter was believed to have been suffocated in 1996 has been charged with murder.
Brenda J. Snyder, 26, of North Bangor, was indicted Friday in the death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Judware.
Ms. Snyder's case was first documented under an assumed name in a 1997 book titled "Death of Innocents" by Richard Firstman and Jamie Talon.
The book describes the deaths of several children who, at first, were believed to have died of sudden infant death syndrome but later found to have been killed.
Ms. Snyder was apprehended Friday afternoon in Colorado Springs, Colo., by the FBI Fugitive Task Force. She was taken to El Paso County Jail, where she will remain until her court appearance, which is expected to be Monday, according to Saturday's editions of the Press Republican of Plattsburgh.
