A routine traffic stop Friday led to the arrest of a man wanted in Rogers County, Okla., on a maiming charge, police said.

Joseph E. Lewis, 24, of Packard Road, Town of Niagara, was being held in the city jail late Friday on a fugitive warrant issued by the Rogers County Sheriff's Department.

The warrant states Lewis "failed to appear for a bail revocation hearing on a maiming charge."

Lewis was arrested after he allegedly failed to signal for a turn and was stopped by police at University Court and Lafayette Avenue. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to signal, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and having no proof of insurance.
