TOWN OF HAMBURG GETTING $478,000 FEDERAL GRANT

The Town of Hamburg is receiving $478,000 in federal grants for housing and community development programs.

"These funds will go toward community-based solutions to the housing and economic development challenges Hamburg faces," said Andrew Cuomo, secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

The town will receive the grants in Community Development Block Grant funds under its 1998 consolidated plan, which was approved by HUD. Among the community development efforts to be funded by the town this year are economic development, housing rehabilitation, handicapped accessibility and youth public services.
