An Amherst woman was listed in serious condition today in Erie County Medical Center with leg injuries suffered in a one-car crash on Shawnee Road shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Patricia C. Wille, 52, of Maple Road was driving south on Slusaric Road when her car went into a ditch feet, then crashed into a driveway culvert, Niagara County Sheriff's Deputy Robert Schnell said. She was flown to the Buffalo hospital by Mercy Flight.
Grand jury indicts Drinkwalter
LOCKPORT -- A man accused of shooting his wife and firing into another couple's home has been indicted by a Niagara County grand jury.
Ronald C. Drinkwalter Jr., 43, of 3692 Creek Road, Youngstown, faces two counts each of attempted second-degree murder, criminal use of firearms, first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He also was indicted on attempted first-degree assault, third-degree assault, aggravated criminal contempt of court and criminal possession of stolen property.
Drinkwalter, being held in the Niagara County Jail without bail, was granted an adjournment until Sept. 8. On Aug. 9 Drinkwalter allegedly fired three blasts of birdshot from a shotgun at his estranged wife Janet, 41, in the front yard of her home on Creek Road, Porter.
