The Allegany Town Board will conduct a public hearing on the adoption of updated planning and development policies at 7 p.m. today.
The update revises policies established in November 1987 and describes the town's current planning goals and development conditions in four geographic areas.
It also describes the past 10 years' trends in residential, commercial, industrial, recreational and institutional development as they apply in the town and within the larger greater Olean area of Cattaraugus County.
Included are updated planning goals to be used in a future zoning ordinance update.
The proposed policy document can be reviewed at the town clerk's office at the Town Hall at 52 W. Main St.
