WOMAN CHARGED IN CAR KILLING

An 18-year-old woman accused of running over another woman moments after the two argued about a boy was arraigned Tuesday on second-degree murder charges.

Police said Polly Smith had been arguing with Amanda Leoni, also 18, shortly before 10 p.m. Monday in this rural town east of Rochester. Police later found Ms. Leoni pinned under the car.

She died shortly before 5 a.m. in Newark Wayne Community Hospital.

Both women were from prominent families in this community of 5,000, Wayne County District Attorney Richard Healy said.
