TONAWANDA OKS CONTRACTS FOR TREATMENT-PLANT WORK

The Town of Tonawanda is continuing to upgrade its 50-year-old water-treatment plant with another $565,000 worth of improvements.

The Town Board has awarded a series of contracts for the projects:

$264,260 to Progressive Weatherproofing for building repairs and window
replacement.

$263,320 to Cortland Glass for window and door
replacement.

$37,950 to McGonigle & Hilger Roofing for roof repairs.

The bids came in lower than anticipated. The town had projected the work would cost $600,000, town Supervisor Carl Calabrese said.
