Duane E. Taylor, 79, of Wallace Avenue, who worked for the family-owned Taylor's Hardware, died Monday (Aug. 24, 1998) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital.
Taylor was a native of Newfane. He and his brother, Vance, of Ridgewood, were the third generation of the family who owned and operated Taylor's Hardware.
Taylor worked all his life in the store, which was established by his grandfather.
He was a trustee and lifelong member of Ridgewood Bible Church.
Taylor was an Army veteran of World War II.
His first wife, Marie Nelson Taylor, died in 1979.
Surviving, in addition to his brother, are his wife, Nancy Pascoe Neidlinger Taylor; a son, Harry of Ridgewood; two daughters, Judy Washburn of Olcott and Molly Nichols of Hamburg; a stepson, William Neidlinger of Burt; a stepdaughter, Barbara Cox of New Hampshire; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in Ridgewood Bible Church, 7070 Ridge Road. Burial will be private.
