Clifford A. Lucas, 84, a retired welder, died Monday (Aug. 24, 1998) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Lucas, of Daniels Road, was born in Bellefonte, Pa. He had lived in Ransomville for the past 37 years and prior to that had lived in Sanborn.

He worked for National Carbon Co. in Niagara Falls as a welder for 42 years, retiring in 1979.

He was a member of Ransomville Free Methodist Church.

Lucas is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Anne Marie Kloosterman; a son, William of Lockport; a daughter, Carol Records; two brothers, Larry of Mexico, N.Y., and Edward of Oakfield; a sister, Vivian Doerr of Orlando, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two OVER 4 LNsgreat-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Road, Cambria.
