Residents of the Town and Village of Lewiston and the Towns of Porter and Village of Youngstown can dispose of hazardous wastes at the town's Highway Building, Swann and Harold roads, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 19.
Proof of residency will be required. Insecticides, herbicides, paint thinners and solvents, swimming pool chemicals, spot removers, furniture strippers, car batteries, aerosol cans, motor oil and antifreeze will be accepted.
Certain car and truck tires also will be accepted at a minimal cost if residents are registered at the Town Hall.
The additional costs incurred will be paid by the villages or townships, according to the number of residents of each participating municipality and the amounts of wastes collected.
