The City Council on Wednesday will consider a $2,000 donation to the Cattaraugus County Living Arts Association, which operates the Ray Evans Seneca Theater on Main Street and in the past has received financial assistance from the city.
The resolution requires the theater group to use the money to promote the city.
The theater does that through public performances at the former movie theater. A recent summer program for children included a theater workshop and final stage performances.
Linda Freaney of the theater group said some money will be used to clean the large stage curtain and to replace back wall curtains. The curtains were placed in the converted theater after an extensive remodeling process.
The theater will celebrate its 10th anniversary next year.
The council will discuss bids to design a new youth center and whether to waive sales tax on clothing and footwear from Jan. 17-24.
