RALSTON FACES TOP SEED IN NATIONAL RING FINAL

Les Ralston of Amherst faces a sizable disadvantage in reach when he meets No. 1-ranked Arthur Palac of Hamtramck, Mich., tonight for the 165-pound class title at the National Amateur 19-and-under Boxing Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Ralston, 17, is 5-foot-11. Palac is 6-5.

Ralston advanced to the title match with a 13-1 decision Monday over Amos Savell of Midway, Texas, who won the silver medal in the National PAL event last year.
