The Town of Amherst's Department of Senior Services will be host to "Brown Bag Pharmacy Day" beginning at 10 a.m. Sept. 24 in the Amherst Senior Center, 30 N. Union Road.
Students from the University at Buffalo will explain the importance of how medications interact with each other and with food. Participants are asked to bring all over-the-counter and prescription medications.
The program is free but reservations are required.
Other Senior Center programs include:
"Look Good, Feel Better," in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, beginning at 1 p.m. Sept. 28. The program, which is free, is designed to help patients deal with appearance changes that may occur during cancer treatment. Register by Sept. 23.
Luncheon and fashion show noon Sept. 17. Senior citizens members will model clothing from Stein Mart, a Transit Road clothing retailer that will provide discount shopping certificates for those attending. Register before Sept. 11. Stroke-prevention screening program for senior citizens, caregivers and their families from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 18. The program is in collaboration with the Independent Health Foundation. Advance reservations can be made from noon to 3 p.m. Sept. 9 to 15.
