Miles E. Winkfield of Ashland Avenue, a material handler for the Tulip Corp. for the past 20 years, died Sunday (Aug. 23, 1998) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 47.
Winkfield was born in Sparta, Ga., and moved to Niagara Falls in 1955. He was a graduate of LaSalle High School.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, the former Rosemary Spillman; two sons, Miles and Ronald; his mother, Ella Mae Winkfield; five brothers, Jimmie Jr. of Rochester, and Daniel, Willie, David and Marris; and two sisters, Emma Byrd of Lockport and Marsha Winkfield.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in New Jerusalem Revival Center, 2723 20th St. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
