Hollis J. Snyder, a retired engineer with Trico Products, died last Tuesday (Aug. 18, 1998) in Beechwood Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was 95.
A native of Syracuse, Snyder graduated from the L.C. Smith College of Applied Science at Syracuse University in 1925. He worked for both the H.H. Franklin Die Casting Corp. and H.H. Franklin Manufacturing before moving to Buffalo to work for Trico Products in 1929. He retired from Trico in 1965.
Snyder and his family lived first in East Aurora and then in Amherst.
After his retirement, Snyder and his wife, the former Laila Wood, traveled across the United States before settling in Arizona in 1970. In 1983 they moved to Syracuse. His wife died in 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, F. Yule Reich of Eggertsville; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 12 in Faith Lutheran Church in Cicero. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Cazenovia.
