GRIFFIN WINS SUPPORT IN BID TO GAIN SEAT ON ASSEMBLY

Former Erie County Comptroller Alfreda W. Slominski is expected to endorse James D. Griffin for the Assembly tonight in the Holland Hotel.

Also endorsing the former mayor of Buffalo will be Robert Kowalewski, former supervisor of the Town of Wales.

Griffin will appear at 6 p.m. at the hotel at 61 N. Main St., Holland. He will face Brian M. Higgins, a former Buffalo Common Council member from the South District, for the Democratic line. The winner will face Republican Steven P. McCarville in the race to succeed retiring Democratic Assemblyman Richard J. Keane of the
145th District.
