The offices of the Dunkirk & Fredonia Telephone Co., 40 Temple St., have been renamed the "Robert Maytum Communications Building."

The ceremony was held Friday as part of the company's 100th anniversary celebration.

Maytum is the son of the company's founder, Arthur Maytum, for whom the administration building at Fredonia State College is named.

Robert Maytum began working for the company as a youngster and continued in various capacities including director, secretary, president and chairman of the board.

He retired in 1996 after 62 years of service, but still continues as a consultant and member of the board of directors.
