A rematch is being planned after Ivan Robinson outpointed Arturo Gatti by a split decision in a thrilling 10-round lightweight battle Saturday night.

Robinson indicated he would bypass a title bout against WBC champion Cesar Bazan to oppose Gatti again. Gatti (29-3) was scheduled for the title bout if he beat Robinson (26-2).

The second fight could be scheduled for November or January, said Robinson's trainer, Eddie Woods, depending on how quickly Gatti recovers from cuts around his left eye.
