A 32-year-old man died Saturday when his car door opened and he fell onto the street in Washington County.
Paul Rogers, of Cambridge, was driving in the town of White Creek at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday when his driver's-side door opened, according to Washington County sheriff's deputies.
When Rogers tried to close the door, he lost control of the car and fell on to the pavement.
A passenger in the car tried to grab Rogers to prevent him from falling out, but she was unable to save him, authorities said.
Rogers was taken to Mary McClellan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Sandra Colehamer, the passenger in the car, was treated at the hospital for apparent shock.
