John H. Dillon, 80, of Dogwood Place died Saturday (Aug. 22, 1998) in the home of his daughter and son-in-law here after a long illness.
Dillon was born in Utahville, Pa., and moved here in 1942.
He spent his career as a welder at the former Hooker Chemicals & Plastics Co.
Dillon was a deacon in Niagara Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Civil Defense Auxiliary Police, the 50 Club, Occidental Chemical Corp. Retirees, and the Lewiston Seniors, of which he was a past president.
He enjoyed gardening and camping.
His wife, Dorothy, died in 1997.
Survivors include his son, John R. of Niagara Falls; his daughter Barbara Smith; three brothers, Dean Dillen of North Tonawanda, Everitt Dillen of Whitehall, and Boyd Dillen of Utahville; two sisters, Martha Warholic of Patton, Pa., and Ellen Drass of the Town of Tonawanda; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Niagara Presbyterian Church, Military and Lockport roads. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
