Carlo J. "Charlie" Deletti of Niagara Falls died Sunday (Aug. 23, 1998) in St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. He was 76.
Deletti retired in 1983 after 43 years with the Republic Carbon Division of Union Carbide, where he was a head packer and loader.
Born in Bethlehem, Pa., he fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Europe with the U.S. Army during World War II.
Deletti was a member of the Retirees Club of Republic Carbon, the Niagara Falls Knights of Columbus and St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Louise Petricca; a daughter, Florence Jorgenson of St. Paul, Minn.; two brothers, John Ruggiero of Wheatfield and Leonard of Buffalo; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 3840 Macklem Ave. at College Avenue. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
