Arthur D. Oldenburg, a former security worker at Bethlehem Steel Corp., died Saturday (Aug. 22, 1998) in Lake Shore Hospital, Irving.

He was 79.

Born in Silver Creek, the former Eden resident most recently lived in Forestville.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Silver Creek and a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Eden.

Oldenburg was also a member of the Pioneer Social Club of Forestville and the Hanover Fish & Game Club. He belonged to the New York State Sheriff's Association Institute.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Eden Memorial Post 8265, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Newell-Faulkner Post 880, American Legion.

Oldenburg is survived by a son, Donn A. of North Collins.

His wife, Jeanette, died July 30.

A memorial service for both will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3487 N. Boston Road, Eden, with church pastor, the Rev. Fred Jacobi and the Rev. Theodore Dallman, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
