Vincent W. Kelly, 79, of 410 Woodrow Ave., Dunkirk, died Friday morning (Aug. 21, 1998) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk after a brief illness.
The son of the late William J. and Mary (Carr) Kelly, he was born in Buffalo on Feb. 7, 1919.
A graduate of South Park High School and Canisius College, Kelly retired from Niagara Mohawk, where he worked as a laboratory technician. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army.
He had been a member of the Dunkirk Elks Lodge 922, Dunkirk Lakeside Club, Cassadaga Fire Department, First Ward Falcon Club, Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions Club, Knights of Columbus 929, Dunkirk Irish Society, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister; and the Knights of Equity in Buffalo.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Marie, whom he married June 24, 1950; two sons, Kevin of Fredonia and William of Boston, Mass.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 328 Washington Ave., Dunkirk.[wbstr]
