A Mass of Christian Burial for James V. Walsh, 71, of Williamsville, retired title investigator for the New York State Department of Law, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 100 St. Gregory Court, Williamsville. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Walsh, who was born in Buffalo, died Friday (Aug. 21, 1998) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a brief illness.
He was a graduate of Kenmore West High School and attended Canisius College. He was manager of the Binghamton Abstract Company before going to work for the Attorney General's office in 1967 as a title investigator. He retired in 1990.
Walsh was a past member of the Knights of Columbus in Binghamton and was an active parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church. He was a member of a group known as the "Prime Time Retirees."
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, the former Ruth Gebauer; a daughter, Kathleen Walsh of Lansing, Mich.; two sons, James V. of Atlanta, Ga., and Brian of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two brothers, John J. of the Town of Tonawanda and William T. of Buffalo.[hdkns]
