Wyoming County has a new Republican elections commissioner.

Vincent J. Cali of Perry will take over for Herbert A. Toal of Covington, who stepped down earlier this summer.

Cali, an insurance agent, will be paid $10,000 annually.

The Board of Supervisors made the appointment Friday during a special session at the Wyoming County Fair.

The board also called on Gov. Pataki to convene a special session of the state Assembly to vote on the Northeast Interstate Dairy Compact.

The most recent session of the Assembly ended without a vote on the proposal.

State Sen. Dale Volker, R-Depew, was on hand for the presentation of a new medical services van to the Wyoming County Office for the Aging.

The county received $20,000 of the cost of the $30,000 van from the state.
