The intensive search for a Hamburg man who fled from U.S. marshals was called off Saturday, but law enforcement agents are continuing to look for him.

Marshals went to the Dorst Drive home of Jason Nester, 23, to serve him a warrant for violation of probation when he ran off just after 5 p.m. Friday, according to police. Nester initially ran off into the woods toward Orchard Park. About six hours after the search started, police reported he was believed to be in the Village of Hamburg.

Police said Saturday officers would continue to look for Nester, but an organized, collaborative search was discontinued.
