Niagara Symphony Orchestra: Directed by James Flood, will perform starting at 8 p.m. at E. Dent Lackey Plaza, downtown Niagara Falls, as part of the 21st annual Summer Experience presented by the Niagara Council of the Arts. $1 donation requested.

Rootabagas Tales: Presented by TheatreFiguren at 2 p.m. in the Herschell Carrousel Factory Museum, 180 Thompson St., North Tonawanda. Admission to the performance is included with the cost of admission to the museum, which is $3 for adults and $1.50 for children.

Employment Workshop: For divorced, widowed or separated women, or those whose spouse has lost his income, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Everywoman Opportunity Center, 800 Main St., Niagara Falls. Call 282-8472 to register. Continues Tuesday and Wednesday.

Thursday
Wilson Fire Co. Field Days: Three-day event at 250 Young St., Wilson, with a midway, carnival games, Las Vegas games and an arcade room every night. Open from 6 to 11 p.m. today, with one-price midway rides. Runs from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, with Jonesie and the Cruisers from 8 p.m. to midnight. Runs from noon Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday, with a chowder sale at noon, a firemen's parade at 5 p.m., and Jonesie and the Cruisers from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Friday
Rummage Sale: From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the St. John's Parish Hall, Main and Chestnut streets, Youngstown. Baked goods and coffee also sold. Continues Saturday during the same hours, with a bag sale held starting at 1:30 p.m.

Peach Contest Deadline: Children entering kindergarten, first or second grade in any Niagara County school may sign up to compete in the Peach Blossom and Peach Fuzz contests at the Lewiston Peach Festival from Sept. 11 to 13. Applications are available at the Youngstown and Village of Lewiston offices and at Lewiston Town Hall.

Saturday
Free Rabies Clinic: From 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cornell Cooperative Extension building, 4487 Lake Ave., Lockport. Animals must be at least 4 months old. Cats must be confined in a box and dogs must be leashed.

Book-signing: Author Paul Gromosiak will sign copies of his newest book, "Daring Niagara: 50 Death-Defying Stunts at the Falls," at the Niagara County Historical Society Museum, 215 Niagara St., Lockport.
