David H. March, 74, of Middleport, a teacher, coach, and athletic director, died Friday (Aug. 21, 1998) in Lockport Memorial Hospital.

A lifelong resident of Middleport, March was a graduate of Middleport High School and Drake University in Iowa. He was a physical education teacher, basketball coach and athletic director for the Royalton-Hartland Central School District.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in the European Theater. He was a longtime member and past commander of the Clute Phillips Post 938, American Legion. He was also a member and past council president of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran church, Medina.

He also served as chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Middleport.

Survivors include two sons, Bruce of London, England, and Douglas of Buffalo; two daughters, Sue Trow of Medina and Cheryl Conley of Edison, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1355 West Ave., Medina.[hjnes]
