DUNKIRK 'HAMS' PLAN WORLDWIDE LINK

Amateur radio operators will link the Dunkirk Historical Lighthouses to light stations and light ships all over the world this weekend, in an event sponsored locally by the Amateur Radio Club of Northern Chautauqua County.

"Ham" radio operators will set up equipment on the lawn of the lighthouse and Veterans Museum from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Sunday, for Lighthouse/Lightship Activity Weekend.

Lighthouses and ships from Belgium to Australia will take part in the worldwide communications link, organizers said. Voice, Morse Code and television will be used to transmit messages and pictures.
