A funeral service will be held today for Arthur M. Haller, 81, a retired Cheektowaga police officer who died Monday (Aug. 17, 1998) in the Henry Mayo Hospital in Valencia, Calif., where he had been living.
The service will be held at 10 a.m. in the Urban-Amigone Funeral Home, 3645 Genesee St., followed by burial in the Acacia Park Cemetery in Pendleton.
Prior to joining the Cheektowaga Police Department, Haller had worked for the New York Central Railroad for more than 15 years. He was a police officer from 1957 to 1977.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he enjoyed camping.
Surviving are two sons, Arthur R. of Newhall, Calif., and Howard J. of Canyon Country, Calif.; two sisters, Viola Neiman of Orlando, Fla. and Loretta Prior of West Seneca; a brother, Edward of Liverpool; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
