Andre Agassi played a tougher opponent in Friday's quarterfinal round of the RCA Championships in Indianapolis, so he elevated his game accordingly.

The result was a 6-2, 6-1 rout of 14th-seeded Wayne Ferreira. Agassi, the tournament's fifth seed, will play unseeded Ramon Delgado of Paraguay in today's semifinal round (2 p.m., Ch. 2).

The 21-year-old Delgado, who beat No. 1 Pete Sampras in the second round of the French Open earlier this year, reached his first semifinal in five years on the ATP circuit by beating Zimbabwe's Byron Black, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. Black ousted top-ranked Marcelo Rios on Thursday.

Today's other semifinal pits 15th-seeded Todd Martin against No. 6 Alex Corretja.

In New Haven, Conn., Goran Ivanisevic advanced to the semifinals of the Pilot Pen tournament, beating Leander Paes, 6-2, 6-4. Paes on Thursday had eliminated Pete Sampras. Also advancing: defending champ Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Richard Krajicek and Karol Kucera.
