Approximately 100 people lined the Barker Commons area in downtown Fredonia on Thursday as the 30th annual Farm Festival officially opened and vendors began setting up.
Trustee Sue Marsh, representing the Fredonia Village Board and Mayor Frank Pagano, presided over the opening ceremony for the four-day festival. A concert by the Deutschmeister's Band of Westfield followed.
Arts and crafts, the food vendors and farmer's market open today and continue daily through Sunday.
Today marks the first full day of the Farm Festival, with music by William Kane from 1 to 3 p.m., a firemen's hose race on Center Street at 6 p.m. and Run with the Oldies at 7 p.m.
