A city van was rear-ended at 10:26 a.m. Thursday by another van in front of the city wastewater treatment plant, 1200 Buffalo Ave., Officer Thomas
Winegarden said.

A city employee who was a passenger in its van, George Crawley, 49, of 3006 Livingston Ave., was ejected and landed on the pavement. He was not wearing a seat belt. He was treated in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for a
fractured right wrist.

The driver of the city van, Angel Martinez, 51, of 403 73rd St., was not hurt. The other driver, James G. Jablonski, 49, of 4586 Morgan Parkway, Hamburg, was trapped behind the wheel his van and had to be mechanically extricated.

Jablonski said he fell asleep at the wheel. The city van had stopped in traffic to make a left turn into the wastewater plant driveway. Jablonski was cited for following too closely.
