Charles Malcolm Samuels, 66, of the Town of Tonawanda, a longtime employee of Ashland Oil, died Wednesday (Aug. 19, 1998) in his home under Hospice care.

The Warren, Ohio, native was a supervisor for Ashland Oil for more than 40 years at its facilities in Tonawanda, Freedom, Pa., and Ashland, Ky., before retiring.

He was a member of Tonawanda Church of Christ, Carroll F. Clapp Masonic Lodge of Warren and the Scottish Rite Consistory of Buffalo.

A Korean War veteran, he served in the U.S. Army with the 187th Battalion and the 11th Airborne Infantry Regiment. He was a member of the American Legion in the Town of Tonawanda.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, the former Bonnie Jane Brandon of the Town of Tonawanda; a daughter, Sue Ellen Samuels of the Town of Tonawanda; two sons, Charles B. of Robinson, Ill., and Robert N. of Tel Aviv, Israel; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
