A Washington, D.C., cabbie is safe after he was kidnapped, locked in his trunk and shot at following a 235-mile journey from the capital to Queens.
Shortly after picking up two men and a woman outside Union Station at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, driver Mohammed Dewan was forced to surrender the wheel, the Daily News reported Thursday.
The trio reportedly handcuffed and blindfolded the 29-year-old driver. They also snatched his automated teller machine card -- which they used several times on the terrifying trip -- before stuffing him into the taxi's trunk.
Six hours later, Dewan's captors let him out of the trunk in the Jamaica section of Queens.
